Types of Anti-Social Behaviour?

There are many forms of anti-social behaviour about and the NFHiB forum welcomes new members every day who unfortunately have first hand knowledge of this. When you're on the receiving end of unwanted anti-social behaviour and attention, you unwillingly become a victim of behaviour that will undoubtedly cause you stress, anxiety, alarm and general upset.

the law

The 'legal' (according to legislation) definition of anti-social behaviour under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 is that it is:

"behaviour likely to cause alarm, harassment or distress to members of the public not of the same household as the perpetrator".

  • Kerb crawling and prostitution

  • Noise Pollution
  • Noisy Neighbours
  • Nuisance Animals
  • Other Damage
  • Overgrown, unkempt gardens
  • Parking Illegally & abandoned vehicles
  • Racist Behaviour / Racial Harassment
  • Rubbish and dumping of litter
  • Running a business from home
  • Stalking
  • Threatening Behaviour
  • Threats made in person or via the telephone
  • Throwing any kind of 'missile'
  • Underage or illegal sales
  • Use of inappropriate places for sport/activities
  • Vandalism, Graffiti
  • Youths and young people who cause problems

    You can often report many types of anti-social behaviour to your local authority (council).

    Always dial '999' in an emergency for the Police, especially in circumstances where you may be in danger (or potential of danger).
